Install your eSIM on Android
Menus vary by manufacturer. These steps cover Pixel and Samsung; other brands are similar. Android 10+ required.
Before you start
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked and eSIM-capable (Settings → About phone → SIM status → EID present).
- Have your eSIM page open on another screen, or copy the manual details first.
Pixel
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM (or “+”) → Download a SIM instead.
- Scan the QR code, or tap “Need help?” → “Enter it manually” and paste the activation code.
- Tap Download → Done. Name the SIM “Travel”.
Samsung
- Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
- Choose Scan QR code from service provider, or “Enter activation code” for manual entry.
- Confirm, then wait for download. Name the SIM “Travel”.
Set it up for travel
- In SIM settings set Mobile data to the Travel eSIM. Keep Calls and SMS on your home SIM.
- Open the Travel eSIM settings and turn Roaming ON. Turn roaming OFF on your home SIM.
- If data does not connect on arrival, set the APN per the operator (shown on your eSIM page if required) or toggle Airplane Mode.
Troubleshooting
- “Couldn’t download”: check Wi-Fi and retry; if the error persists, the profile may already be installed. Contact support with your order id.
- Dual-SIM phones with a physical SIM may need the eSIM slot enabled under SIM manager.
- Do not delete the eSIM after your trip if you intend to top it up.
