Install your eSIM on iPhone

Works on iPhone XS/XR and later (iOS 16+ recommended). Have your eSIM page open on another screen, or copy the manual details first.

Before you start

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi. Installing does not use plan data, but it does need internet.
  2. Confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock should read “No SIM restrictions”.
  3. Do not install while on a plane or without connectivity; you can install at home days before travel.

Install with the QR code

  1. Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  2. Scan the QR code from your eSIM page shown on another device.
  3. Tap Continue, then Done. Label the line “Travel” so it is easy to tell apart.

Install manually (one device)

  1. Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → Enter Details Manually.
  2. Paste the SM-DP+ address and the activation code from your eSIM page. Leave the confirmation code empty unless one is shown.
  3. Tap Next and wait for activation (up to a minute).

Set it up for travel

  1. Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → choose the Travel line. Leave Default Voice Line on your home SIM.
  2. Open the Travel line and turn Data Roaming ON. On your home SIM, turn Data Roaming OFF.
  3. Keep “Turn On This Line” enabled. On arrival the phone will register with the local network automatically; the plan starts then (unless it has fixed dates).

Troubleshooting

  1. No service abroad: toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds, or select a network manually under Travel line → Network Selection.
  2. “Unable to complete cellular plan change”: the profile was likely already installed on this or another phone. Contact support with your order id.
  3. Do not delete the eSIM after your trip if you intend to top it up.
